First Day for little Minnie Mouse
Sep. 3rd, 2013 11:37 pmMinnie is Chique's daughter...my (hopefully someday) granddaughter to be. She calls me "Aunt Beth", which makes me laugh. She is, as you may have surmised, a gigantic fan of Minnie Mouse.
I mentioned that they just moved into the village a few blocks from me. Yesterday morning there was a knock at my door and there she was, with Newt behind her, little helmet on her head, all excited because she rode her bike here. Tomorrow I get to take her to her very first day of school! So thrilled I am!! More so than I thought I would be (yes, yes, I know my heart is supposedly black and full of goo, but we can keep this little secret, yes?)
I am wearing my Pink Panther footie pajamas. The ones that made Magoo totally break down laughing the first morning I walked half awake into the living room where he and his girlfriend were staying for the night. (My other footie pj's are dark blue with skulls and hearts on them. Not your average old lady am I!!) So sad that summer went by so fast and not a warm summer at that, save for one scorching week in July. It should be brilliantly warm, at least in my humble opinion. And here I sit with my footie pajamas on, watching 'Breaking Bad' next to my little faux fireplace. smh.
No other news today. Oh, except that I quit smoking cigarettes because I broke down and bought an e-vape unit. I figure it's not a lot different than nicotine patches except that it doesn't remove my skin like the patches do. Seems I have an extreme allergic reaction to the glue, which seems to dissolve my skin. (No, it is NOT because I accidentally walked in sunlight. It really did dissolve my skin. I went to the doctor and everything, and she said to stay out of the sunlight. NO!! Just kidding. She said it was one of the worst reactions to a patch that she had ever seen. I have these weird squarish scars on my shoulders and back now.) Anyway, I can heal from smoking fire sticks and slowly withdraw from nicotine now. I plan on slowly lowering the nic drops and adding non-nic herbal flavors. I have my eye on a jasmine-chamomile flavor, and of course, mint chocolate! I'll let you know how this endeavor goes. I have high hopes, and the price I paid for it that I had to save up for months may also be an encouragement.
